Matariki Lights at Stardome is an immersive and beautiful exterior activation that encourages manuhiri to come to Maungakiekie to celebrate Matariki with a beautiful light and sound display. It is an invitation to Aucklanders to come and enjoy Aotearoa's first official Matariki Public Holiday.
The event is centred around an outdoor lighting and projection installation that illuminates the exterior of the Stardome building as a unique backdrop to tell the story of Matariki. The movement of nine pillars of light will be accompanied by waves of sound to create an immersive event.
For the campaign, we needed an image which captured beauty and intrigue. By integrating a bespoke typographical treatment which shimmers in the pillars of the lights, we built a slightly surreal and magical image to engage and excite the audience.
