Where sound becomes colour and story becomes truth—capturing the emotional symphony of female relationships through one woman's extraordinary neurological journey.
Design of promotional poster for Dorthe Scheffman's film Vermilion. Dorthe Scheffmann's directorial debut celebrates female relationships through Jennifer Ward-Lealand's portrayal of Darcy, a composer with synaesthesia who sees colour when playing musical notes. When those colours begin changing, Darcy recognises something is happening to her uniquely wired brain beyond synaesthesia, prompting her to reassess her life and relationships.
This poster was designed to appeal to feminine audiences while portraying both the emotion of the lead character's transformative journey and the broader female community and world she inhabits.
